The Department of Art and Art History at the University at Albany, SUNY, invites
applications for the position of Full-Time Lecturer in Painting and Drawing. This is
a non-tenure track position with the possibility of renewal, with an anticipated
start date of Fall 2018.

The successful candidate will teach painting and drawing at the undergraduate
level, and engage with graduate students in the MA and MFA programs in all
media disciplines. The Department seeks a collaborative colleague who will
participate in curriculum development and organization at the area level, and
support the educational mission and initiatives of the Department, College and

Applicants are expected to have a broad knowledge of contemporary issues
pertaining to their field, and should demonstrate a strong commitment to
professional growth through exhibitions and creative activity. Preference will be
given to candidates who have experience in Foundations education, especially in
Drawing and 2D Design or equivalent.

An MFA in Art or Visual Studies is required, with a degree earned from a
university accredited by the U.S. Department of Education or an internationally
recognized accrediting organization. Two years of teaching beyond graduate
experience is preferred.
